International Women’s Health Day
International Women’s Health Day

May 28 is the International Day of Action for Women’s Health. This day is celebrated around the world for the improvisation of women’s health & also for the protection of the sexual & reproductive health.
Year after year women, girls, advocates & allies have continued to take action and stand up for sexual & reproductive rights for what they are : an indivisible & inalienable part of our human rights.
On this occasion Ford Hospital & Research Center, Patna, organized a number of activities to celebrate this day. We chose a leading coaching institution in the heart of the city, BSC Academy. This institute has produced more than 60,000 Probationary Officers from Eastern India over 25 years.
All the girl children were selected from Boring Road branch of this Institution. Dr Anita Singh ( Obs & Gyn ) accompanied by Sr. Dietician Miss Rubeena Perveen did a Health Talk followed by Health Check up of all these students.
Most of these students are hostilities. They live in hostels for preparing for various competitive exams. During the course of their stay in Patna health care is completely compromised leaving them anaemic & with some medical conditions which they are unable to recognise & suffer a lot.
Identifying this need, they were educated on Women’s Health by Dr Anita Singh which was followed by a health check up where more than 100 students (female) participated. Their BP was checked. Some of them were found to be under weight. They were advised proper medication & diet.
